What's it like working in Customer Service?
It’s busy – obviously – and we do all we can to keep our customers happy, which we all find extremely rewarding. What’s great is that there are no scripts to follow – you just use your initiative and common sense. It’s all about building up a rapport with the students that mean you can deal with their issues effectively.

It’s the fact that no two days are the same which makes being a City Manager such an exciting role. When I joined 8 years ago I didn’t imagine this is what I would be doing today, but Unite Students have really helped to support my talent and ambition. I’ve worked my way up from a Service and Sales Advisor and each role has given me a different experience and insight into the business.
It’s a fast-paced environment and we’re continually growing. Sometimes it can be tough, but everyone really looks out for each another and there’s always support available.
I love the people I work with and the students are absolutely the best bit. You see them grow and succeed in the most fundamental part of their lives. It’s not just a job, you know you’ve played a part in their future success.
My role within Unite Students is extremely rewarding. It allows me to learn a variety of different skills from sales to student welfare and safety training. The business rewards our hard work, which motivates me to push further and be the best I can be.

I’m always encouraged to share new ideas, so it has allowed me to embrace my creativity and I love that these efforts never go unnoticed.
Unite Students as a company has supported me from the get-go to progress in my role. The training provided in the first few weeks was extremely beneficial and allowed me to meet my new, friendly colleagues. This has been the best job I’ve had to date; I love how different my role can be from day to day. Despite the different departments, we all come together as one team which makes me feel supported.
