Liverpool

Just a couple of years ago I was a student myself who had never been to Liverpool and was suddenly living there – not knowing anyone and getting used to a brand new way of living. I ended up loving the city so much that I stayed after I’d finished university – and I wanted to pass that experience on to other new students in the city.

Unite Students is what I expected and more. In Liverpool, we all work together to make sure we give our students the best experience possible. I enjoy working here because of the team spirit and the fast-paced, varied nature of the work. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had here to meet members of staff from other cities and create a wider network of support.

The positive nature of the role is what makes me come in every day with a smile on my face. The people are brilliant – it’s very rare to see someone in a bad mood here. I’m still quite new to the company but I’ve had lots of support in terms of doing the BAS course. The fact that my managers encouraged me to go on the course, makes me motivated to learn new things and push myself out of my comfort zone.

One of the aspects of the job I really enjoy is the face to face interaction with the students. I enjoy helping them with any issue, no matter how big or small it is – it’s nice when the students see you as a human being rather than a uniform.

I enjoy the wide variety of interesting work. There are so many diverse challenges and problems to solve that keep me constantly engaged. I love coming up with innovative ideas and solutions, and as a team, we are given the space and freedom to do this. 

My role relies on our customers’ insight. I admire their willingness to help us improve. It is refreshing to work somewhere with such great access to understand and build relationships with our customers.
