Alexandra Hepworth Editorial Manager, Bristol
I joined Unite Students in January 2017 as a Website and Content Manager, but was promoted in September to Editorial Manager. This role is a new position in the company and forms part of the editorial team. I manage our Student Life Hub content and oversee social media strategy, as well as manage the content that appears on our digital screens around the country, making sure we project a consistent message across all channels.
What initially appealed to me about the role was the opportunity to work for a market-leading FTSE 250 brand operating in the youth market. I was really impressed by Unite's digital offering and was keen to get involved.
I love the working environment here – there's a very collaborative atmosphere with lots of break out areas dotted across each floor. While we're often working to tight deadlines and simultaneously delivering a number of projects, I feel supported by the management team and enjoy the camaraderie that this style of working brings. I also have the opportunity to be involved in workshops outside of my team, looking at ways that we can improve our customers' experience, which is great fun.
If you want to work for a company that's constantly evolving and striving to provide a world-class service, working with a team who get things done, Unite Students might just be the place for you.

I joined Unite Students in October 2016 and was really impressed with their commitment into digital design. The business was investing heavily into their website, mobile app and app development to enhance the customer experience, and I loved the thought of getting involved with that.
Unite Students is all about the people that work here. There are ambitious people here that want to develop themselves by providing an exceptional service to our customers. It’s a professional working environment, but it’s also really fun. There’s a team ethos and the business is always looking to develop their people. I have a great relationship with my managers and colleagues, which means we produce excellent work. There are lots of social activities and that’s great for bringing the whole business together.
If you’re looking for a great, enjoyable place to work, with the opportunity to develop your skills and capabilities and make the most of your career, this is it!

Phil Francis Change Manager
I joined Unite Students in London in 2011 as a Sales and Service Advisor and I quickly learnt that the role was more than just working at reception. I was quickly promoted to a supervisor and developed property management skills, helping students build life skills during their transition to adulthood. As Change Manager I work with the Service Design team to help them introduce and deliver 27 new concepts to the business. We pilot these concepts in selected cities and gather feedback. With this information I then provide recommendations on the next steps to deliver a world class service for our students.
Unite Students is a diverse, innovative and dynamic place to work. My working environment is fast paced and very rewarding. The management team across the board are very encouraging and challenge me to pay extra attention to my development. I’ve worked hard for the position I’m in now and this has always been supported and endorsed by the business. It’s a fast growing business that will continue to evolve and I foresee great development opportunities in the future.
Working with students is so rewarding. You see them grow and develop, and at times provide them with life changing guidance and support. It’s great to be able to support them, coach them and offer them opportunities that can help them gain experience.
Whether this is your first job or you’re an expert in a certain area, Unite Students will offer you direction, development and support in your career choice.
