The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the operational and strategic delivery of HR activity across your business area. Reporting to the Head of People and working closely with the regional Head of Operations for London, you will work with the regional leadership teamand the wider People team to deliver a world-class people partnering service.

We`re looking for up-and-coming HR stars to join our team and help us to shape the future of business partnering at Unite Students, working together to embed high-value, commercially focused HR delivery in conjunction with our brilliant People Team Centres of Expertise (CoEs). You don`t necessarily need to have held a Business Partnering position previously - we are excited to speak with anyone that has a strong generalist HR background and a passion for people experience.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Be a trusted advisor on all people issues, embedded within the business area and regional leadership team
  • Work in collaboration with key business stakeholders to develop a people plan that supports both the Group People Strategy and Business Strategy
  • Coach, mentor and guide your respective business leaders and line managers on talent, performance, DEIB, wellbeing and engagement with a view to developing a high-performance culture
  • Champion and develop the evolution of a new and progressive culture of Employee Relations; simultaneously ensure risk around complex employee relations cases is effectively managed
  • Lead people change and transformation projects, including TUPE, with the support of the wider People team
  • Work in partnership with the CoE`s to develop our HR toolkit across all people processes and ensure they land successfully and add value to the business
  • Maintain an outside-in perspective and use data and insights to shape the people and business agenda
  • Sponsor and lead the development and deployment of our employee policies to ensure that they reflect our culture and align us as an employer of choice
  • Act as the key interface in building strong working relationships between the businesses and the HR delivery teams
  • Support and facilitate the development of managers in people management and manager self-service

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Previous exposure to a hands-on HR role, with experience across areas such as Employee Relations, Talent, Reward, Leadership and Learning Development and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Experience in designing and adopting HR processes and systems to the needs of various employee groups
  • Curiosity in helping to tackle new challenges and business problems with a solution focused mindset
  • Strong commerciality, with a focus on how HR deliverables can strategically support the business
  • Comfortable with data, able to seek out conclusions by formulating and testing hypotheses and interrogating various data sets
  • Able to manage the inherent complexity of managing people through a combination of clear communications, relationship building, and proactive management of networks
  • Confident to provide an independent voice,constantly navigating between the needs of the function and the overall needs of the organisation and HR
