Summer Receptionist

Location: Edinburgh

Hours: 37.5 to 40 hours per week, working 5 days a week between the hours of 7am and 11pm (including weekends)

Contract: Fixed term contract until mid September

Pay: £10.15 per hour

What the Summer Receptionist job involves:

The summer receptionist role is a varied and challenging one where no one day is the same. You`ll be working within a friendly and supportive team and playing a vital role in ensuring that students living in our properties have a great experience.

Covering a number of our properties, you will be:

• Providing a front of house reception service
• Taking payments and cashing up end of day banking
• Taking reservations
• Welcoming guests and contractors to the properties
• Ensuring required maintenance or housekeeping works within the properties are reported and completed.
• Assisting with turning the rooms around once the guests have left (September time)

There are also varied administration duties to keep you busy, such as:

• Maintaining our IT and information systems
• Processing customer bookings and payments
• Assisting in processing tenancies and filing reservations

Another element of the role is that of maintaining positive community relationships with neighbours, local communities and local authorities.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU:

A genuine passion for customer service is the most important quality for us. Although you may not have worked in the accommodation, hospitality or retail sectors before, what is really important to us is that you:

• Have experience in a customer facing role (ideally you`ll also have worked within a reception environment or hotel)
• Are a first class team player who possesses a positive and collegiate attitude
• Are able to work flexible hours covering 6 days out of seven (including weekends)
• Thrive on understanding, empathising and delivering against customer needs
• Possess excellent communication skills and can build relationships effectively with people
• Are computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
• Are able to work at pace, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Have excellent personal time management and prioritisation skills
• Are self-motivated and able to work on your initiative
