- Lead and support the Housekeeping Team, through hands-on involvement, coaching, and continuous feedback to help them develop and perform at their best.
- Provide line management and leadership to your team - conducting performance reviews, managing attendance, conduct, and performance, and supporting their growth and development.
- Be responsible for setting objectives, creating rotas, and managing holidays to ensure effective cover and operational excellence.
- Contribute to cluster performance by delivering key business KPIs.
- Act as the point of escalation for incidents and ensure every situation is managed calmly, professionally, and with care.
- Planning and organising the daily operations of the housekeeping team, including fair delegation of tasks and performance monitoring.
- Ensuring all communal and back-of-house areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, working alongside maintenance teams to address any issues swiftly.
- Setting a strong example by proactively addressing cleanliness and safety concerns without delay.
- Communicating effectively, solving problems confidently, and fostering teamwork and a culture of learning and high standards.
Your background
You don`t need to fit a box or follow a traditional path - what matters most is your mindset. We`re looking for curiosity, openness to learning, and the drive to make a difference. Whether you`re solving problems, leading change, or supporting our students day-to-day, it`s your attitude and approach that will help shape something bigger.
To be successful in this role, you will
- Have previous housekeeping experience, ideally with a background in leading or supervising a team, or extensive experience in housekeeping seeking progression.
- Be detailed-oriented with a keen eye to maintain high cleanliness standards and ensure nothing is overlooked.
- Be hardworking and willing to actively work alongside your team while confidently delegating tasks based on team members` strengths.
- Communicate effectively by actively listening, using clear language, and maintaining composure in challenging situations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership by motivating your team, providing timely feedback, solving problems efficiently, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
