The Role

We`re looking for a Communications Manager - Live to support the delivery of engaging and impactful external and internal communications that enhance the resident experience and showcase Unite Students as the leading PBSA provider. `Live` is one of three pillars which sits alongside Work and Invest. These form part our of 2030 strategy, with our objectives being `A Great Place to Live, Work and Invest` and our purpose - A Home for Success: we create communities where young people thrive.

In this role, you`ll work closely with the Communications Partner - Live to implement communications strategies that highlight our accommodation quality, customer experience, sustainability initiatives and innovation. You`ll support the development of B2C and B2B campaigns and reports, including those aimed at the Higher Education sector, helping to ensure messaging is clear, compelling and strategically aligned with our reputational pillars of Trust, Quality and Impact. In addition, support in developing the communications strategy and storytelling of Up to US, our sustainability framework which reflects the positive impact we have on young people, our colleagues, the environment and local communities. You`ll bring strong content and creative skills, with the ability to write across formats and channels, and manage the production of high-quality assets that support our communications goals. With an eye for detail and the ability to find a compelling story at every turn, to engage varied audiences.

What You`ll Be Doing

• Deliver internal campaigns that support property teams in enhancing resident wellbeing, sustainability, safety and community engagement.
• Align messaging with broader internal communications activities.
• Deliver sustainability comms plans to promote initiatives internally and externally.
• Manage HE engagement communications, including reports, thought leadership, events and campaigns. - Translate insights into messaging that positions Unite Students as a trusted university partner.
• Draft and refine copy for HE engagement materials, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment.
• Produce high-quality content across formats - press releases, blogs, scripts, presentations and social media - aligned with business strategy and editorial framework.
• Create briefs and manage production with internal and external teams to deliver on-brand assets.
• Support briefing and management of the consumer PR agency.
• Coordinate campaigns and monitor performance.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure consistent messaging and campaign delivery.
• Track communications performance and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain campaign calendars and dashboards.

What We`re Looking for in You

• Experience in communications, agency or in-house, ideally in a consumer-facing or service-led environment.
• Experience of delivering successful multichannel communications campaigns - ideally including sustainability or customer experience campaigns.
• Experience supporting communications for sector-specific audiences, such as Higher Education, is desirable.
• Experience in media relations, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and managing responses.
• Strong content creation, creative writing, and copywriting skills across a range of internal and external formats and channels.
• Experience briefing and managing creative production, including external agencies and internal teams.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster high-trust connections with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Collaborative and proactive approach to working with teams.
• Organised, adaptable and eager to learn and grow.
