The Role

Our fantastic Finance team are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join uS in Bristol for an initial 12 month fixed-term contract.

The Management Accountant role supports the centralised management accounting activity and will act as key support for the FP&A team on income reporting, analysis and forecasting.

As a Management Accountant you will continually seek to extend and improve the way we use systems in finance and enhance the efficiency of the processes used to manage the accounting adjustments, reporting and associated financial control.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with the Operations FP&A team to deliver appropriate reporting of income key activity including monthly accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
  • Ownership of income reporting including meeting with FP&A on a regular basis to present year to date performance and knowledge of all risks and opportunities
  • Driving automation within the role, exploring opportunities to reduce preparation time for reports.
  • Building and maintaining a relationship with relevant stakeholders, support them with ad-hoc queries and analysis.
  • Provide accurate and timely budget and forecasts for income lines
  • Take the lead with managing the input to the finance system for budgets and forecasts liaising with other teams as and where required.
  • Reporting to and meeting with FP&A to review income actuals and keep the current forecast under review.
  • Production of ad hoc reports as required by Commercial Finance and FP&A
  • Ensuring the timely completion of month end processes and controls including posting journals in relation to property income and income related property costs.
  • Preparing variance analysis and reporting packs for income reporting as appropriate.

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • An ability to understand complex group structures and get up to speed quickly
  • Experience of management and financial reporting in a corporate and time pressured environment
  • The desire to continuously improve processes by working with other Finance teams to achieve a common goal
  • Possesses and promotes a positive attitude, with the ability to adapt swiftly and a willingness to undertake challenging tasks
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Excel Skills with a good understanding of Look-ups and Pivot tables
  • Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • An ability to communicate at all levels and develop good working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
