The Role
Our fantastic Finance team are looking for a Reporting Accountant to join the team in Bristol.
Sitting within the Group Reporting Team, the Reporting Accountant role has been established to support the centralised JV and corporate structure function within the Group Reporting team.
Using excellent technical and reporting skills and a desire to deliver first class service to stakeholders, this role will be responsible for month end tasks, Joint Venture (`JV`) management reporting and dealing with technical requests, such as accounting for new JV`s and changes to the corporate structure.
The ideal candidate will continually seek to improve the way the finance team operates and uses systems, to enhance the efficiency of the close process and add value to their reporting.
What You`ll Be Doing
- Responsible for the accounting for the USAF JV including timely completion of quarterly JV reporting tasks, additional journals, preparing management accounts, explaining movements, and producing balance sheet reconciliations,
- Quarterly variance reporting on fund overheads to the Senior JV Reporting Accountant,
- Managing group recharges for USAF, invoicing, and cost settlements for the JV
- Liaising with joint venture/ investment fund finance business partners (`FBPs) to reflect any changes to fund structures in the appropriate reporting period,
- Ad-hoc projects, such as working through technical aspects of corporate restructures, securitised debt facilities, and equity related transactions, such as distributions and redemptions,
- Production of ad-hoc reports as required by stakeholders across the business and cost centre budget holders.
- Ensuring the timely completion of month end processes and controls including posting journals in relation to group borrowing and fee amortisation and overheads.
- Responsible for the accounting for build-to-rent (`BTR`) including the timely completion of month end processes, including posting journals to property NOI and overheads (BTR relates to non-student, professional letting income) and reconciliations.
What We`re Looking for in You
- Professional accountant qualified ACA or ACCA accounting qualification
- Experience of financial reporting in a corporate and time pressured environment
- Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Excel Skills with a good understanding of Lookups and Pivot tables
- An ability to understand and account for JV`s and complex group structures
- A mentality of continuous improvement
- Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to prioritise workloads
- An ability to communicate at all levels and develop good working relationships
- Ability to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
