The Role

We have an exciting oppotunity for a Functional Analyst to join our innovating Business Platforms Team at our Bristol office. The Finance Platform Functional Analyst will provide technical guidance, and expertise in the support, development, implementation, and optimisation of the Finance platform. This role ensures that the platform is efficient and is equipped with the latest features and functionalities to support the finance-related operations within Unite Students.

Able to bridge the gap between the technical capabilities of the Finance Platform and business needs, the role ensures that the Platform is set up, customized, and used in a manner that maximizes its value to the business while maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance. They will also be willing to train and become a functional expert in new SaaS technologies as and when onboarded.

This role sits in the Business Platforms Team within IT and reports to the Finance Plaform Lead. The Functional Analyst will lead by example and help to create a collaborative and supportive environment to facilitate close working relationships with team members and the wider business.

What You`ll Be Doing

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for our Enterprise Systems and the business processes they support, working to resolve the issues alongside our key users and 3rd party support partners.
• Deliver system changes and enhancements to improve business processes and provide the right tools for the job for our key users, working with our Managed Service providers where appropriate. This includes writing and analysis of functional requirements and developing viable solutions.
• Support in the management of the team`s workload ensuring priorities are met.
• Own, improve, and deliver a change process to promote fixes and changes in line with business priorities and the team workload.
• Ensure all support calls and communication are logged within our ITSM helpdesk tool, respond to support calls within agreed SLA targets in a professional and courteous manner, and escalate calls internally or externally.
• Ownership, Creation, and maintenance of system documentation which supports IT and the business requirements.
• Engage with other business functions to identify requirements for new initiatives that drive improvements across our core systems.
• Develop excellent working relationships with customers and colleagues through strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Manage the UAT process for system changes and patching, co-ordinating and analysing testing scenarios, executing tests where necessary and supporting our key users through the process.

Key Responsibolities:

• Champion an agile way of working and the tools that support this, i.e. Dev Ops, by continually improving processes.
• Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the finance platform. Help ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and performs optimally.
• Provide expertise in Fusion Financials and other systems that fall under the finance platforms remit.
• Work closely with the Platform Teams to ensure systems integrate well and are fit for purpose.
• Balance and prioritise tasks between project support and business as usual.
• Work with our business SME`s and with third party suppliers to support, develop and enhance the Finance Platform for Unite Students

What We`re Looking for in You

• Previous experience of working as a Functional Systems Analyst, to ensure that key business systems are aligned with, and provide support for, key business processes.
• Knowledge and expertise of Oracle and Oracle Financials.
• Knowledge and experience of providing support and analysis for large scale / Tier 1 ERP systems.
• Experience of supporting and delivering IT change and IT projects
• Ability to liaise comfortably with key stakeholders, translating business language into functional and technical solutions.
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiative whilst prioritising and owing work assigned to you.
• Experience of using IT support tools (Project Management, ITSM, Development and Deployment)
