Unite Departments / Property Develpment & Asset Management

At Unite Students, our ambitious growth strategy is based on investing in new development opportunities and proactively managing our assets as well as various fund vehicles. That’s where our Property Development, Asset Management and Fund Management professionals come into their own.

Our Property Development experts manage the entire building and property development lifecycle, from identifying new sites and gaining necessary permissions to raising funds and managing the construction process. It’s all about producing high quality buildings – and making sure that projects are completed on time and in line with customer expectations.

Our Asset Management team is engaged in everything from disposals and acquisitions to financial forecasting, refurbishments and extensions. Their objective? To help us deliver the best possible returns to our funds and shareholders and the best possible buildings from which to meet our customers’ expectations.

Our Fund Management team oversees the USAF fund (UNITE UK Student Accommodation Fund). They also manage the Group’s co-investment vehicles including the leading fund for indirect institutional investment in the UK student accommodation sector as well as major joint ventures with several financial institutions.

We recruit people in a wide range of skill areas:

Margaret is Housekeeping Supervisor in Glasgow where she looks after 660 students. She is proud of the fact that she has never had a bad word with any of them.

“I really enjoy working with the students. For a lot of them, it’s the first time they’ve been away from home and they often need a friendly face and bit of advice. I try to give them both if I can.
