We use technology to help our students have a great experience throughout their student life with mobile as a value add companion whilst living in our properties. We help connect them to each other, to our fun events, to our support and services, to useful content, education, partners and work opportunities which make Unite Students more than a room and a great place to study.

The Role

Unite Students are embarking on a technology and business transformation over the next few years. The core focus of this transformation is one of customer first. We are redefining customer user experiences from the ground up, based on insight and research. This work will cover internal and external systems, apps and websites for all customers, both internal and external.

Unite Students are restructuring to ensure that user experience is an integral part of the approach. We are looking to grow the UX team to include UX/UI designers and UX researchers to support the various teams across the business. We are at the early stage of planning so, initially, we are looking to hire key people for some of the early roles. One of those roles is a Senior UX/UI designer.

As a SeniorUX/UI Designer you`ll play a critical role in designing exceptional user experiences. You will be part of a dedicated UX team reporting to the UX/UI Design Manager.

You will be someone who strives to learn and understand our users` needs, behaviours, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. As a UXr you will be passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity.

What you`ll be doing

• Lead on UX projects
• Ensure a user-centred design approach working collaboratively with UX designers, BAs, POs, and Developers
• Ensure exceptional standards UX and UI design, ensuring brand standards and guidelines are maintained and enhanced across all designs
• Research, ideate and concept UX solutions working closely with Stakeholders, BAs, and POs
• Collaborate and instigate research and user-testing

What we`re looking for in you

• Four or more years of UX/UI design experience, UX principles, UI design best practices and processes, stakeholder engagement
• A portfolio demonstrating high calibre digital design skills, working with material designs
• Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively
• Experience of leading on discovery projects and in planning, facilitating workshops
• Proficient in mobile-first and responsive design
